South Run Rec Center Playground
South Run Rec Center and park is a great spot in Springfield Virginia. The playground has canopies for shade in the summer with two separate but in the same area playgrounds for older kids and younger kids. Tennis courts and basketball courts are nearby and the rec center is open most hours to use the restroom. More from our visit in the link below.

Windmill Park Alexandria
Windmill Hill Park is a lovely park near Old Town Alexandria with huge fields, views of the Potomac and Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and 3 play structures. 2 are fully fenced with toddler swings, sand pit ship and lots of shade from 9:30-11 AM. Check out the link below for more from our visit.

Edison Park Playground is a small playground in Arlington but with a huge climbing structure. It connects to Lubber Run Creek and Lubber Run Playground.

Jones Point Park Parking
Jones Point Park is easy for parking as there is a lot right at the end of the street before the river. The park is great for kids and for all seasons as I-495 passes over it with lots of protection from the rain or sun! There are 2 playgrounds, one on the side of the parking lot and the other passed the interstate closer to the water. More from our visit in the link below.
