The Arlington National Cemetery parking lot was easy to use when we visited when my daughter was young. The parking lot is conveniently located near the visitor center, making it easy to access the main areas of the cemetery. We cam early, especially on weekends and in the Spring, as the lot can fill up quickly.

We visited in spring, and beautiful cherry blossoms are around the grounds!

Cost of Parking at Arlington National Cemetery

The cost is $3 per hour or with a maximum of $12 per day. For larger vehicles like RVs and Tour Busses, it's $10 per hour or $40 for the day. On busier weekends, I recommend going earlier in the day to make sure you get parking.

Traveling with Kids to the Arlington National Cemetery Parking Lot

If you're visiting with kids, preparation is key. Start by explaining the significance of Arlington National Cemetery to them, so they understand the importance of the visit. Bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are limited options within the cemetery grounds. Comfortable shoes are a must, as you will be walking quite a bit. Additionally, consider using a stroller for younger children, as the vast area can be tiring for little legs. Be sure to check the weather and dress appropriately, as much of the visit will be outdoors.

Things to See at Arlington Cemetery

While exploring the cemetery, take advantage of the tram tour. It's a great way to see the highlights without overwhelming the kids with too much walking. The tram stops at several key sites, including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and President John F. Kennedy's gravesite. Make use of the restrooms at the visitor center before you start your tour, as facilities are limited once you are inside the cemetery. Lastly, remind the children to be respectful and quiet during the visit, as this is a place of honor and remembrance.
