Tour Details — Current as of 2025
- Tours are active at the Washington, D.C. Tour and Visitor Center.
- Schedule: Runs Monday through Friday. Regular hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., with the last tour starting at 2:00 p.m..
- Extended hours: From March 24 through August 29, 2025, hours are extended—open until 5:00 p.m., with the last tour at 4:00 p.m. and last visitor entry at 4:30 p.m.
- Closures:
- Closed on federal holidays.
- Closed from December 24, 2025 through January 2, 2026, reopening on January 5, 2026.
What to Expect on a Tour
- The tour experience begins with an introductory film, followed by a guided walk along an enclosed gallery overlooking the production floor, where you can watch U.S. currency being printed. The full experience typically lasts around 40–45 minutes.
- Afterwards, you can explore exhibits and the gift shop.

- Tickets:
- You can reserve tickets online or via phone (one adult may reserve up to nine tickets).
- A limited number of same-day tickets become available online at 8:00 a.m., on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Security: All visitors must pass through a magnetometer screening. Certain items—like liquids, food, aerosols, weapons, etc.—are restricted.
