The Capitol Visitor Center is underground on the east side of the Capitol. The Center is open weekdays from 9 AM to 3 PM. Tours of the Capitol building itself are only available for advanced reservations. They are free and check out the website for more info! Note: the tours include the Capitol Crypt, Rotunda and National Statuary Hall. They do not include Senate and House Galleries.
