Great Falls Park Maryland side is one of the best parks in the DC area with stunning views of the falls over the Potomac River. On nice weekends, I highly recommend going as early as possible because they will close the parking lot when full and street parking is not available. When we have out of town guests, we always take them to Great Falls! Our reasons for preferring Maryland side is in the link below.
