National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden

The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden has to be one of the best spots on a sunny day in DC! Open daily from 11 AM to 4PM. The gates opened were on Madison, 7th and Constitution Ave. We brought our clipboards to sketch a little and had the best time talking about what each sculpture could mean or the materials or the title. Hillwood Estate Museum And Gardens

Hillwood Estate Museum and Gardens

Hillwood Estate Museum and Gardens is much more than a museum, it is also a mansion and our favorite, beautiful gardens. There is a Japanese Garden, formal French Parterre, Cut Flower Garden, Rose Garden, Greenhouses and more! An estate, museum and gardens in Georgetown. Founded by Marjorie Post wit h13 acres of beautiful formal gardens. We took my daughter years ago when she was a toddler and I would definitely say it is kid-friendly! The mansion is filled with treasures you may need to keep a hold of your little one’s hands but other than that, its a magical world nestled next to Rock Creek Park in Northwest DC!

Meridian Hill Park

Meridian Hill Park

Meridian Hill Park is also known as Malcolm X Park in Northwest DC. Has DC's version of the "Spanish steps" and a drum circle every Sunday at 3PM. A 40 year old tradition!
