Palisades Playground and Rec Center - Northwest Washington DC
Tucked in the neighborhood of the Palisades, this wonderful Potomac-themed playground is really fun! There are a variety of climbing structures for big kids, plus slides, a few swings, and other little kid areas to explore. There are some nice large trees and a shade structure which helps on hot summer days, and there's a small splash pad with a slide. The playground is fully fenced in case you have a kid who tends to wander.
The grounds of the Palisades Rec Center also feature sports fields, a skate park, a paved walking path, and a few easy (but not stroller-friendly) nature trails thru the surrounding woods. Just off the trail to the left of the parking lot when you're facing the playground, you can also find the Glass Forest, a unique sort of sculpture garden tucked into the woods.

🚻 Restrooms are at the Rec Center through the exterior door closest to the playground.
😷 This playground can get busy on the weekends but usually has plenty of room to spread out, especially with the fields and other areas around the Rec Center.
🅿️ Free parking lot, but it can fill up quickly. Street parking is also available on Sherier Pl NW.
