Here’s how I would break it down by age.

At this stage, safety and separation from big kids matters most. You want padded floors, small slides, and contained spaces.

After many indoor play days across Maryland, I’ve learned a few things the hard way. If you’re heading out with kids, these small details can make the difference between a smooth outing and a stressful one.

Always Check the Hours the Morning Of

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve assumed a place opened at 10 AM, packed everyone up, driven 30 minutes… and found a private event sign on the door.

Indoor play places change hours frequently. Some close for birthday parties. Some adjust for school breaks. Some have toddler only time slots. Now I always check the website the morning we go, even if I think I know the schedule.

It saves so much frustration.

Fill Out Waivers Before You Leave

For trampoline parks like Sky Zone or Urban Air, you’ll almost always need a signed waiver. I’ve made the mistake of trying to fill it out on my phone in the lobby while my kids are bouncing off the walls.

Now I do it at home.

It takes two minutes, and walking in already checked in feels like a parenting win. If grandparents are coming too, make sure their waivers are filled out in advance as well.

Go Right When They Open

If your schedule allows it, mornings are golden. It’s quieter, cleaner, and much easier to keep track of your kids. By early afternoon, many of these places get crowded, especially on weekends and school breaks.

Bring Grip Socks

Grip socks are required at most trampoline parks and many indoor playgrounds. If you forget them, you can absolutely buy them there. We’ve done that more than once.

But I’ve learned they areusually cheaper online.
